The Society for the Promotion of Kumla is dedicated to increasing the U.S. per-capita consumption of kumla. However, this goal does not have to be accomplished by getting more people to eat kumla. Our main period of activity is around Christmas; however, increasing the consumption of kumla during other periods is high on our priority list.
Kumla is a delicious meal composed of grated potatoes balled together with flour and boiled in ham bone broth, commonly made during the depression in Norway. It has become a family favorite, and is approximately the color of the background of this page.
Kumla recipes can be found on the net that are very similar to the family recipe. In the future, the society plans to collect a gallery of pictures of delicious kumla.
